Morning bubbles
Hope you all had a good weekend. Can't believe it's October, days are just whizzing by.
It's our Kylle's birthday on the 12th so just ordered his presents. Just the cake to make now and its my Anniversary on the 10th. No plans as yet, not even sure if Jay is working that day yet.
Have the shopping arriving later this afternoon. I might try a walk into town tomorrow for fresh fruit and veg and I need a new pair of slippers, mine are literally falling apart now.
No other plans for the month ahead, I have a couple of GP appointments later in month and Fibromyalgia consult next week, so will see how that goes.
Hope you all have a great week.
Take care everyone..x

Fireworks have been going off here since early September, had a display of them going off just last night from the houses at the back of us.
I don't mind people setting them off if they do it on the day, but round here they let them off all the time, even in daytime. It's mad. Thankfully my Trixsey doesn't panic and simply barks back at them if she's outside or growls softly when she's snuggled up with my on the sofa, though it's those high pitched whistled ones or those loud bangers which bother her most and she'll tell them off.
I didn't manage to get into town, I woke up this morning in agony, thankfully it's eased off since earlier, but I'll take a miss on town today. See how I feel tomorrow. Did you get your slippers Julie - strange that we do the same things sometimes even though we live miles away from each other, lol.
Hoping to get some stitching in later if this pain eases up a little more, I tend to make mistakes if I try to stitch through it, if not I'll pick up a book later.
Hope everyone is okay..x

Hope you feel better Kelly. I bought some slip on slippers earlier this year when it became too hot for my boots but not warm enough to go bare foot.
It's rather noisy here at the moment as we are having all the windows and external doors replaced. Luckily the weather is dry apart from Monday afternoon when we had heavy showers and thunder. They will still be here tomorrow. The house is in a mess. They are in the kitchen at the moment and they may get to the living room window today as well. Then there is only the front door.
Can't concentrate on anything. May go into town this afternoon.

Ugh, sounds like a nightmare Margaret. Hope they finish the work quickly. I'd be losing my mind if I was in the middle of that chaos! Good luck and hope the mess is kept at a minimum.
Julie, hope Grey doesn't get too poorly. How are you feeling now?
Still haven't got any slippers either, Jay is off work this weekend so might try a walk into town then. I've done a few chores around the house this morning, but I keep coming out on those awful cold sweats and feel like I'm going to pass out so I'm just gonna finish here, make a cuppa and just crash on the sofa.

Morning all,
I did something daft this morning, I stayed in bed after Jay left for work and I went back to sleep. The door went at around 7:45 which woke me up which I ignored assuming half asleep still that Jay was downstairs. It knocked again so I shouted for Jay to get the door forgetting he has a 3 day week at work, lol. He wasn't in the house obviously - I'm a right muppet sometimes, haha!
It was Mr Postie for our Kylle, he's building The Dodge from De'Agostini and more parts arrived for him.
Trixsey took a fall today, she's fine but she's struggling to get down the stairs now. I'll have to keep an eye on that as she's having problems getting over the doorstep too, they are quite high I need a second step to get in and out the front door myself. I'll see about getting her a ramp. Her back legs seem to be getting weak, I'll raise my concerns with her vet when she goes in for her 3mth checkup next week.
I joked to her after I checked her over that we might both be in a wheelchair at the same time, and if she does go on her back legs she can ride with me, lol. I can just see us both on a scooter going down to the duck pond and back, haha!
I know how she feels, I've took a few tumbles these past couple of months myself. I think the docs might have predicted it right this time. I'll get myself a wheelchair or scooter after Christmas is out the way. Though I'm going to feel like a right prat at first, it took me a while to get used to the stick but now it's normal for me to use it and I don't think it about it anymore, I assume it'll be the same for a chair.
I'm also running a light fever, took my temp this last night and this morning and it's 38.1c and also took a Covid test just to be sure, but I'm clear. I'll see how I go today, if I don't move too quickly or do anything too demanding I seem to be okay. I made the bed this morning when I got up and about died, lol. I'll just do a little light housework until whatever this is goes away. The turtles tank needs a water change, which I usually do on Thursdays but I'll see if the kids will be kind enough to do that for me today.
The "zoo" is all doing great, little Herbie the hoggie as grown a little, Hettie is huge now and Peaches and Kaspian are both beautiful after their recent sheds. Kaspian is getting really friendly now though Peaches is a little wild, but she's lived in a small box for the first 2 years of her life without any human interaction other than being fed, so her environment is still quite new to her. She's a beautiful snake though she just needs taming a little. The baby leo's are growing beautifully too, both are really friendly and love a good climb around the lounge, when they get a bigger I'll introduce them to their older siblings. I have a large playpen where they all have a stretch out, explore and climb around, Leos' love to climb.
I had the tarantulas out last night too, I haven't took photos to share with you as I know not everyone likes spiders, but they are doing great too and have got quite big now.
The new Ackie, is still very skittish, so no pics yet. It's eating well though and has grown and had a shed since recently too. I'm leaning towards it being a female, due to the shape of it's head, girls are more slender than males, but it's too soon to be sure yet.
I have a spare vivarium again now, so thinking of getting another snake. I have my eyes on a red lined Garter or a Ratty, though I've seen a Ghost Corn that needs a rehome which as also caught my interest.
Anyhoo, I'm rattling on again, always happens when I start mentioning reptiles, lol.
I'll try doing a little housework as I have a full wash basket and I really need to polish the lounge as a house spider seems to have made a home behind Jay's desk and he says if it isn't paying rent the little guy has to leave.
It's only come in from the cold, I had a mother house spider with an egg sac not long ago, I gave her a spare spider enclosure then put her in the shed when the egg sack opened along with some fruit flies for the babies to eat. Well, she was with child, I wasn't just going to kick her out without somewhere to have her spiderlings. Jay thinks I'm crazy - yes I probably am, lol.
After I've found Mr Spider and cleared away his recent cobweb - I told Jay I might leave it and pretend it's an Halloween decoration, though he wasn't impressed - I'll get the chores done then hopefully a little crafting.
Have a good day everyone...x

Take care of yourself Kelly and don't overdo it.
A much quieter day today as they finished the windows and doors yesterday. It was so frustrating not being able to do things. Today I have started the clean up. The dust gets everywhere.
Went shopping today for some new net curtains. Mine are falling apart. Found a couple I liked. Just need to decide which ones. We came home empty handed as we could not find anything else we were looking for.
It's a lovely day here. The sun is shining and it is quite warm.
Hoping to get back to stitching soon. I think my stitchy bug has gone on holiday.

Glad the work is done now Margaret, now the task of cleaning up after them. You think you've got it all then it settles again to another fine layer.
There used to be a place here for net curtains called The Mill, it was cheap and the nets were a lovely variety, sadly like most shops here it closed down.
Such a shame about Wilkos too isn't it, it's been here since the 30's though not always in the same place, it'll be odd not having one.
Our town as too many beauty and vape shops, along with cafes and takeaways but not much of anything else, all the best shops have since closed down. Even the pet store has moved and I now need to take a bus to get there. I keep hoping we get a hobbycraft but never do, lol. My nearest one is Chesterfield, but a round trip is almost 3 hours and 4 buses to get there and back. It was only one bus and a £10 trip for 2 when Spira was running which I could catch just a couple of streets away which was more convenient, but that no longer runs.

Afternoon Bubblers,
How are you today?
I've tried to make a GP appointment today but no luck. I wrote a brief online message and another doctor got back in touch to say my usual doctor will be in touch - yep okay, why bother even sending a text, lol. I feel awful, really drained, tried and those awful cold sweats are now making me fall over as they make me feel really faint. I'm hoping my GP can be of help - if I can get in touch with him - like bloody secret service just trying to get an appointment.
I've ordered some card blanks today as I didn't have any int he stash, though I had but must have used them or misplaced them. My bedroom/craft room as been moved around a few times and things get put away then can't remember where, lol.
I've done a little more on the dollhouse and some more stitching on the bird plate, so it's been a productive few days. It's our Anniversary tomorrow though we have no plans, and I don't feel up to going out for a meal.
Jay's not too happy with work either, he's had a stressful shift and was put on report. All he did was stop a resident hitting another with his zimmer frame by putting his hands on it so he couldn't lift it up to swing. He was put on report as he looked "angry" at the resident - how can you report someone for the way they look. He said it wasn't anger, but concern as said resident can give a good wallop out when he starts swinging his zimmer frame about! I think the boss has it in for him as there was a bit of a dispute about Covid.
He's handing in his notice when he gets his last paycheck before Christmas.

Hope that a doctor has now got back to you Kelly - it seems to be getting harder and harder to get anywhere with a surgery these days. I managed to book a flu jab yesterday - drive thru again this year to keep you out of the surgery! I assume that non-drivers are allowed in! I have just come back from a short break in Athens - my younger daughter wanted to go there for her 30th birthday but lockdown got in the way! We had a fabulous time - walked miles and miles! I was forced to channel my inner mountain goat as there were so many hills and flights of steps and so much rocky ground! We walked everywhere rather than taking the metro as you can miss so much while underground. At the parliament building the two guards perform what can only be described as a "dance" every 15 minutes and on the hour there is another "dance" as the guards change over! Had we been on the metro we would have missed this! We had an 8 hour delay coming home as the plane broke and they had to send a "rescue" plane out from Manchester! As there was only a "rescue" bar on board we could all have a complementary cup of tea, coffee or water and, wait for it, a free KitKat! This last actually got a cheer from everyone on board! This morning I have hung a few pictures - gradually taking advantage of the extra wall space in my extension. I need to go to Dunelm in the next few days to collect some curtains - bought 2 pairs last week and have had to wait for another pair to come back into stock. I have used click and collect as, knowing my luck, they would have gone if I had waited until I went in there. There is a mini parents evening this week for my grand daughter so we are hoping to get an idea about how she is settling in and possibly if she is eating at lunch time. There is supposed to be tomato pasta and jacket potatoes every day but, apparently the children are choosing the pasta and not the potatoes so there will now be 2 days a week with no pasta so that the children have a balanced diet! Frankly I would just be pleased that they are eating something! Take care everyone! Attachments:

Receptionist at GP office did ring me yesterday evening. I'm booked in next week with my GP for a double appointment.
Covid jab is also booked in for 2nd of November at local hospital, so that's sorted now as well.
Didn't get much sleep last night, it was just turning 3am when I gave up and came down for a hot drink and had five on the sofa, really shattered but hoping to keep my mind occupied with some crafting.
Trixsey has vets tomorrow, I'll get a taxi down there and walk it back if I can manage it, its just her med check and I'm not sure when her booster is due, its around this time of year so I'll check.
Hope everyone is okay...x
Sorry to hear the trouble with your flight, Joan, but glad all is well and you're home safe - and you enjoyed the free kit kat, lol. Sounds like a lovely break, though my legs hurt just thinking about all those hills!
Hope you find that all is well at school with the little one.

I have managed to turn up one of my curtains this morning - another 5 to go! It took me a while as I had to get re-acquainted with my sewing machine as it has been a long time since I last used it - must have been before Covid! i realised halfway across that I really should have pressed the new hem line first but it will all be fine once the curtain is at the window!
I had planned to attempt another curtain this morning but I had a "stupid" email from my energy supplier and had to resort to live chat to try to sort them out. My last bill shows just the total cost of electricity and gas used with no details about the readings used to arrive at these total. I queried this by email and was told that the information was there - it sure as hell wasn't! So 40 minutes on live chat to be told that this has to be put right by a specialist team and this will take about 14 days! At least they have agreed that the information is missing!
I am now going to have a coffee and then "stab" some stitching to make myself feel better!
Hope everyone else is having a good day!
Take care!

I know what you mean about electricity suppliers hun, I had something similar with the gas a few months ago. They said I hadn't been paying enough (pre payment meter) and they wanted to put in place an extra £5 charge that will automatically come off whatever I top up. I told them that was impossible with a pre-payment meter, if I don't top up, the gas switches off so how can I not have been paying enough - duh. I got a letter several weeks later saying they'd made a mistake.
I have smart meters, I simply top up using an app on my phone If anything they owe me from a failed topup some time ago, the money came out of my bank account, but no money transferred to the meter and I got no top up code either - they are quick to take it off you, but trying to get reimbursed, is like trying to get blood from a stone.
Lol, I'll probably be the same Joan when I get back to the sewing machine, it's been ages since I used it. I was hoping to get back into my doll making but I haven't this year. Good luck with the curtains, I have some gingham to make some up for the kitchen, if just to block out a little light from the neighbours gardens, it's like blackpool illuminations at night here. The material is cut and measured ready for sewing, I just need to make them up.
